The Director of Network Security Services will provide expert support, analysis and research into complex problems and processes relating to deploying Networking equipment. The director will function as the Network products Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will lead a team of engineers who provide pre-sales consulting as well as post-implementation services for Network Security products and services, primarily Palo Alto Networks.

The director contributes to the development of new principles and concepts, works on unusually complex technical problems, and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. This is a highly technical, hands-on role and the director will be required to develop and maintain an expertise on the products and solutions deployed within the Customer’s network.

The director will participate in a significant amount of pre-sales consulting activities in conjunction with the Security Architect and Account Team, in addition to providing leadership of the team.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Plano, Texas headquarters and requires the Director to work on-site a minimum of three days per week.

Essential Functions

  • Consult and guide customer(s) on security best practices and act as a Trusted Advisor for the client on behalf of Networking solutions.
  • Provide leadership for a team of engineers that offers technical consulting and implementation services
  • Work with company leadership to develop a portfolio of services and develop a go to market strategy for services sales
  • Hands on keyboard ability to perform networking services that are being presented to showcase technical, leadership, and strategy expertise. There will be a requirement of a minimum of 40% billable hours while still managing the team.
  • Responsible for enablement for technical and sales teams on the Networking portfolio of products and services
  • Work with sales account team to help formulate technical strategy to address customer business needs.
  • Support direct manager in managing business needs through weekly reports and Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Have an existing book of business or access to contacts from a recent book of business to create initial introductory meetings.

Required Education/Experience (10+ years)

  • Current or previous experience in professional services and / or similar customer service industry.
  • Experience leading a team of technical professionals.
  • Experience in enterprise level network security architecture.
  • Proven customer service skills.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g. MIS, CIS)

Certificate And License Requirements

  • Professional Certification (PCNSE) – Required
  • Routing and switching fundamentals (CCNP or equivalent).
  • CISSP

Skills/Abilities

  • Expert level relationship management, communications, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage face to face interactions with multiple levels of customer management and engineering staff, across multiple departments within the host company, in a responsible and professional fashion.
  • Expert level troubleshooting methodology to isolate and identify configuration, design, and software anomalies; ability to clearly articulate findings in written and verbal communications with development level engineering staff.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information in a strictly professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in times of high stress.
  • Excellent customer service skills to foster relationships and interact with local and remote clients in a persuasive and confident manner.
  • Above average organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) including interaction with Sr. leadership, peers and team members.
  • Multi-Tasking and Time Management Skills; can adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment, mainly from the Plano, Texas headquarters.
  • Travel may be required up to 30%.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends to meet company and customer needs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to move about inside a professional office environment.
